From Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 June the harbour of Portsoy will be a sight to behold with traditional boats from far and wide docking at the fishing town for the 17th annual Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. This spectacular event celebrates traditional maritime heritage with a range of delights for all the senses from boats to music and crafts to food.

 

See the finest craft in the Scottish historic fishing fleet including the Reaper, Isabella Fortuna and Swan at the 2010 event, which expects to attract more than 15,000 visitors to the town. A wide range of traditional craft demonstrations including rigging, sail making, basket making, knitting, weaving and coracle making will all be showcased at this year’s event.

 

2010 sees the biggest music programme of the Festival’s 17 year history. Top of the bill are The Peatbog Faeries, who headline the Friday night showcase concert (Friday 25 June) with the ‘Scottish jazz banjo-playing folk singer’ Alistair MacDonald. A full music programme over the weekend will feature a host of performers with musical genres from sea shanties to fiddles represented at the event.

 

There will be plenty of seafood including smokies and kippers, plus all that’s best in the region’s produce at the Food Fayre which will be even bigger than in previous years. Visitors can eat their way round the harbour and town with delights ranging from a ‘Well Hung and Tender’ burger to hog roast and from pasta to haggis.

The passes are valid for both Saturday 26 or Sunday 27 June 2010.

 

It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision about this winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

By registering for the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival e-news you will automatically be entered into the draw. No further action or purchase is necessary to enter.

 

Entry is restricted to one per person. Late, illegible, incomplete or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

 

The winner will be drawn at random from all correct entries received by the closing date which is midnight on Friday 18 April.

 

The winners will be notified within seven days of the closing date of the prize draw.

All elements of the prize are non transferable, non-negotiable and there are no cash alternatives.
